🫶🏻 Hi! Look at you girlfriend!
You're a mom now...gosh that is amazing and challenging and character building isn't it? It wasn't what you thought it was going to be was it?

Here! I made you some coffee. Sit, sit, sit, please (yes, I know the anxious feeling that baby could wake up any minute. Let's at least take a sip). Oh wait, I have water for you too! Need a soft cozy blanket? All settled?
I thought of you the other day. I remembered how you were just going through the motions becoming a first time mom and even though you had so much love in your heart and eyes you were still worried.

I remember the thoughts you had; am I doing this right? Am I going to screw her up? It seems easy for others but it feels like I can't catch my breath. My body is going through a lot and I don't know who I am. Did I even want this? What if I can't settle her? What if somethings wrong and my mom gut goes off and no one believes me? What if I don't remember her this little?
You were reading articles, gathering as much research, weighing every choice, thinking about the future preparation, went to therapy and validated your experience while also acknowledging it is hard.
I want you to hear this.. all of your questioning and digging and preparing helped you relax into motherhood and I am so proud of you.

You are not the same Mom you started as and that's a good thing. You are still evolving and learning and screwing up (I know, it feels really icky). You're doing your best, saying sorry when you need to, laughing because you genuinely think she's silly, you're not as serious as you thought you were.
I love this new version of you, the one you fought for. And I cannot wait to see you keep going, even on the days that are supposed to be normal but feel completely upside down.

Till next time 🫶🏻
Liz
